LABIN, AEFA SOSTENIBLE Award

LABIN wins the AEFA Sustainable 2024 award

Jan 20, 2025 | Labin News

At LABIN, we are very proud to have been recognized with the AEFA SOSTENIBLE Award, which highlights the best practices in sustainability within the agronutrients sector. This recognition reinforces our commitment to building a greener future for agriculture and motivates us to continue moving forward with our LABIN Forest project.

Our goal with this initiative is to reforest forests in the Iberian Peninsula and offset the carbon footprint we generate as a company. To achieve this, we have taken concrete steps such as replacing our fossil fuel vehicles with electric vehicles, using 100% renewable electricity and integrating vegetable biomass in our production processes.

Thanks to Bosque LABIN, we not only neutralize our current emissions, but also offset the CO2 we generated in the past. In addition, together with the Retree platform, we have created a system that allows anyone to actively participate in reforestation through digital trees that are then physically planted in the forests.

Social and environmental benefits

The project goes beyond offsetting emissions. On the one hand, we have generated rural employment, hiring 25 people, supporting the development of local communities and raising awareness of the importance of reforestation. On the other hand, we have contributed to the absorption of CO2 -to date 3 tons-, to the regeneration of landscapes and ecosystems, and to the direct strengthening of the local community.

Since we launched the initiative, we have achieved concrete results:

  • Trees planted: 668
  • Regenerated area: 7,518 m²
  • Rural employment generated: 200 h / 25 people
  • CO2 offset: 3 tons
  • Water benefit: 17.05 m³

Our innovative approach

What makes Bosque LABIN unique is the combination of technology and environmental action. We involve society in the fight against climate change and promote a sense of collective responsibility towards our environment.
